PASTOR’S COLUMN - JUNE 20, 2016

Dear Parishioners:

As my time with you comes to a close here at St. Joseph’s, I am filled with gratitude to God for how God has blessed me with your loyal presence and participation for 11 years.  I recently reflected on the Gospel passage about being a servant of the Lord and how Jesus’ call to serve is an obligation, a duty to fulfill.

God has embraced me with the call to serve you here at St. Joe’s for more than a decade.  It is timeless time for me and I thank you for sharing your faith journey with me in Christ.  Together we have pondered the mystery of God’s Word and Sacrament at Eucharist.  And I trust that our Holy Communion with each other has grown with the passage of the years.

Many of my Pastor’s Columns over the years have dwelt on Holy Communion with Jesus and Holy Communion with each other.  I pray that as I move to a new assignment that we will nonetheless, continue our growth in the faith journey of Holy Communion with God and neighbor.  The reason is that when we cut thru all the matters of life, what matters the most is that we are one with God and neighbor since this is how we keep vigil for the Communion of Saints.

Loving you in Christ,
Fr. Terry
